Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP ABAP S/4HANA Architect to lead design, development, and optimization of SAP solutions in S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in ABAP along with strong architectural capabilities, enabling scalable and high-performance SAP implementations.
This role requires close collaboration with functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and development of SAP ABAP solutions on S/4HANA
- Define and implement technical architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices
- Drive S/4HANA transformation programs, including system conversion and greenfield implementations
- Design and optimize custom developments, enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows
- Provide expertise in code pushdown techniques using CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA optimization
- Collaborate with functional consultants (SD, MM, FI, etc.) to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Lead performance tuning and troubleshooting for ABAP/HANA-based applications
- Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, security, and compliance requirements
- Mentor and guide development teams, conduct code reviews, and enforce quality standards
- Participate in client discussions, solutioning, and effort estimation
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP (RICEF objects)
- Hands-on experience in S/4HANA architecture and migration projects
- Proficiency in:
- CDS Views
- AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures)
- OData Services / SAP Gateway
- Enhancements (BADI, User Exits, Enhancements Framework)
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 integration
- Knowledge of performance optimization on HANA (code pushdown, SQL optimization)
- Exposure to SAP BTP / Integration technologies (preferred)
Functional & Business Understanding
- Strong understanding of SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI/CO
- Ability to align technical architecture with business processes
Experience Requirements
- 12–15 years of SAP experience with strong ABAP foundation
- Minimum 2–3 end-to-end S/4HANA implementations or conversions
- Proven experience in architectural roles or technical leadership positions
Soft Skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to lead teams and drive delivery under tight timelines
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP S/4HANA certification (ABAP or related modules)
- Experience in large-scale enterprise transformations
- Exposure to Agile / DevOps methodologies in SAP landscape
